Buckeye Baits
The Buckeye Flat Top Finesse Jig in 3/8oz Green Pumpkin is a versatile shallow-water lure built to handle both precision presentations and exploratory fishing. Designed with input from professional angler Charlie Ingram, this jig combines a recessed line-tie and flat-bottomed head to give you stable, controlled movement whether you're working tight to structure or dragging across open bottom. The green pumpkin color is a proven choice for finesse fishing in clear to moderately stained water, blending naturally with vegetation and silt.
The flat-bottom design keeps the jig stable on the lakebed and reduces unintended rolling, which matters when you're making subtle presentations to pressured fish. The recessed line-tie minimizes snagging on cover and helps the jig track true on the retrieve. At 3/8oz, this weight walks the line between light enough for responsive action and heavy enough to reach mid-depth zones without excessive casting effort—ideal for dock flipping and bottom-contact techniques.
This jig works best paired with a finesse soft plastic, whether a small craw, shad, or creature bait. It's at home in lakes where bass are keyed on smaller, more natural forage, and it shines when fish are being cautious. Green pumpkin is one of those colors that produces year-round, particularly effective in spring and fall when crawfish and naturals dominate the diet.
