Buckeye Baits
The Buckeye Flat Top Finesse Jig in 1/4oz Gold Craw is a versatile small-profile jig built for anglers who need precision and confidence in shallow water and around cover. Designed by seasoned pro Charlie Ingram, this finesse jig combines a recessed line-tie with a flat bottom—two features that work together to keep your presentations accurate whether you're working dock pilings, laydowns, or picking apart shallow structure. The Gold Craw color is a natural choice for crawdad-hunting bass in clear to slightly stained water, and the 1/4oz weight hits the balance point between castability and sensitivity that finesse anglers prize.
Finesse jigs live in the gray area between power-fishing and technical precision: they're light enough to feel bottom composition and subtle takes, but heavy enough to reach productive depths and control your drift. The flat-bottomed design keeps the jig stable on hard lake floor, reducing hang-ups and making it easier to detect when crawdads or other forage species interact with your bait. The recessed line-tie minimizes snags on wood and rocks, letting you fish tighter quarters without constant breakoffs.
If you spend time flipping shallow cover, fishing clear lakes on light line, or simply want a jig that feels alive in your hands, the Buckeye Flat Top Finesse Jig is worth tying on. Pair it with a small craw or creature bait and let the 1/4oz weight do the talking.
This is a 1/4oz finesse jig—designed for lighter presentations. While we don't have the exact hook size in our specs, finesse jigs in this weight class typically pair well with 8–12lb fluorocarbon or braid on a medium-light spinning rod.
Yes. The recessed line-tie and flat-bottom design were specifically engineered for dock work and shallow-water flipping, making it a solid choice for that application.
Gold Craw is a natural crawdad pattern that works well in clear to moderately stained water where bass are actively hunting crayfish. It's particularly effective on hard-bottom flats and around shallow structure.
