Browning
The Browning Maxus II Stalker 12ga semi-auto shotgun is a purpose-built waterfowl and upland hunting tool that pairs proven gas-operated reliability with genuine comfort improvements for all-day field work. This 26-inch barrel model combines the legendary dependability Browning shooters have trusted for years with a streamlined, no-nonsense package that performs equally well on the range or in the marsh—backed by a new composite stock and recoil management system designed to tame even 3½-inch magnum loads.
The Maxus II's Power Drive Gas System has earned its reputation for cycling cleanly across the entire spectrum of ammunition, from light target rounds to heavy waterfowl loads, while the Lightning Trigger delivers the fastest lock time in its class. Unlike shotguns that sacrifice comfort for reliability, the Stalker adds a SoftFlex cheek pad and 1½-inch Inflex recoil pad to meaningfully reduce felt recoil—a genuine upgrade if you plan to shoot all day. The stock can be trimmed up to ¾ inch and adjusted for cast and length of pull, making it genuinely adaptable rather than a one-size-fits-none design.
Practical details matter in the field. Oversized bolt release and bolt handle speed up operation when wearing gloves or heavy gear. Rubber overmolding on the stock and forearm provides secure purchase in wet conditions. A nickel-Teflon coating on the bolt group, shell carrier, and release resists corrosion and adds smooth operation. The matte black finish is subdued and ready for work, and the ramped trigger guard makes loading smoother. HiViz Tri-Comp fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead support fast target acquisition in changing light.
You get three Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) and a hard case, so the gun is ready for the truck or truck bed immediately. If you shoot 12-gauge semi-autos and want genuine reliability without hype, this is the one to handle.
