Browning
The Browning Citori White Lightning 12ga over/under shotgun combines classic styling with modern durability—a refined choice for hunters and clay shooters who want elegance without sacrificing protection. What sets the White Lightning apart is its polished steel receiver finished in a nitrided coating that mirrors the natural color of bare metal. Unlike traditional blued actions, this distinctive "in the white" aesthetic provides a luxurious contrast between the polished receiver and blued barrels, all while offering corrosion resistance comparable to conventional bluing. The result is a shotgun that looks as timeless as it shoots.
Built for fast-moving targets, the White Lightning features a rounded pistol grip and matching forearm that anchor your hand in a consistent position shot after shot. Whether you're swinging on waterfowl, upland birds, or working targets in the sporting clays course, that ergonomic grip design promotes the control and repeatability serious shooters demand. The 28-inch barrels strike a balance between handling and sight picture, while the 3-inch chamber accepts standard and magnum loads. At 8 lbs 2 oz, the gun carries responsively in the field without feeling whippy or fatiguing over a long day of hunting or competition.
The Citori name carries weight in the shotgun world—Browning's over/under platform is proven across decades of hunting and clay games. This particular White Lightning model merges that legacy with a visual statement: polished steel that catches light and turns heads at the gun club or in the truck bed. The nitrided finish isn't cosmetic window dressing; it's functional protection that keeps your investment safe from the elements while maintaining that distinctive gleam.

The nitrided finish on the White Lightning's steel receiver leaves the metal in its natural polished color—what's called "in the white"—rather than applying a dark blue coating. Both finishes provide comparable corrosion resistance, but the nitrided approach offers a distinctive polished steel look that creates elegant contrast with the blued barrels. It's a visual statement that pays homage to classic shotgun aesthetics.
Yes. The rounded pistol grip and forearm design promote the consistent hand positioning essential for clay shooting disciplines. The 28-inch barrels and balanced weight distribution support smooth, repeatable swings on targets. The 3-inch chamber also handles the standard ammunition used across trap, skeet, and sporting clays competitions and practice.
The White Lightning has a 14 1/4-inch length of pull. Drop at comb is 1 5/8 inches and drop at heel is 2 1/2 inches. These measurements define how the gun's stock sits relative to your shoulder and face. If you're unsure whether these dimensions suit your build, handle a Citori White Lightning in person or consult a gunsmith—proper fit is critical for comfort, accuracy, and safety.
The shotgun has a 3-inch chamber, so it will accept both standard 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch magnum ammunition. However, always follow manufacturer guidance and shoot ammunition appropriate for your intended use and comfort level with recoil.
