Brownells
Keeping a .44 or .45 caliber handgun clean means having the right tools on hand, and a quality .44/.45 caliber handgun bore brush is essential for removing powder residue, lead fouling, and carbon buildup. The Brownells Standard Line Brush in stainless steel is built to tackle fouled or heavily leaded bores with aggressive cleaning action when you need to restore a neglected gun or maintain one that sees heavy use. Stainless steel bristles are more durable and can handle stubborn deposits that softer brass would struggle with—though it's worth knowing that aggressive brushing does accelerate wear over time, so reserve the stainless steel brush for when your bore really needs it rather than routine maintenance.
Brownells packed these in a 12-pack bulk kit because serious shooters and gunsmiths go through brushes regularly. The shank is one-piece steel, looped and wound (not the cheaper twisted-together method), which means it won't unravel or fray mid-cleaning. The 8-32 male threads fit standard cleaning rod connections, so you can swap it in and out of your existing rod setup without hassle.
Whether you're breaking in a new revolver, deep-cleaning a used acquisition, or maintaining a range gun that sees regular rounds downrange, having a dedicated set of stainless steel brushes means you're never caught without one. The 12-pack gives you spares for the safe, the range bag, and the bench.
| Caliber | .44/.45 Caliber |
| Material | Stainless Steel Bristles |
| Shank | Steel, looped and wound |
| Threads | 8-32 male |
| Overall Length | 2-1/8 inches (7.3 cm) |
| Quantity | 12 Pack |
Yes, as long as your cleaning rod uses standard 8-32 male threads, this brush will thread on securely. Most quality cleaning rods use this connection, but verify your rod's threading before purchase.
Stainless steel brushes are designed for heavily fouled, leaded, or rusted bores where aggressive cleaning action is needed. They work faster than brass on stubborn deposits, but regular use can accelerate barrel wear, so they're best reserved for deep cleaning rather than routine maintenance.
Shooters and gunsmiths go through brushes regularly—whether they wear out, get lost in the field, or you simply like having backups. A 12-pack ensures you always have a fresh brush ready and makes the per-brush cost significantly lower than buying individually.
This brush is sized for .44 and .45 caliber handguns, including revolvers and pistols in those calibers. It is not suitable for other calibers.
