Brownells
Serious shooters know that barrel care separates a rifle or pistol that groups tight from one that drifts. The Brownells Special Line Brush in Brass for .22 Caliber Pistol is engineered for shooters who refuse to compromise—whether you're cleaning a tack-driving .22 target pistol or a reliable plinker you depend on. This 12-pack gives you enough brushes to keep a rotation going without cutting corners on maintenance. Unlike economy brushes, the Brownells Special Line uses a one-piece brass shank, looped and wound (not a cheap twisted-and-chopped design) that won't scratch your bore, paired with phosphor bronze bristles that scrub fouling and copper buildup thoroughly without wearing out after a handful of cleanings.
The no-scratch brass coupling protects the chamber and bore during the push and pull of a thorough cleaning cycle. That combination of durable phosphor bronze wire and a thoughtfully engineered shank means each brush in this pack will outlast the cheaper alternatives stocked by big-box retailers. If you own a quality .22 pistol—especially one that shoots as well as it looks—spending a few extra cents per brush to eliminate any risk of barrel damage is a no-brainer.
With threads that fit standard cleaning rod adapters (8-32), these brushes work with most common field and bench setups. The 2.125-inch overall length gives you enough working surface to cover the bore without excessive hangover. Stock a few packs in your range bag or cleaning kit; once you feel the difference between a quality brush and the mass-market alternative, you'll understand why Brownells Special Line is the go-to for dedicated shooters.
| Caliber | .22 Pistol |
| Shank Material | Brass (one-piece, looped and wound) |
| Bristle Material | Phosphor bronze |
| Coupling | Brass, no-scratch |
| Overall Length | 2.125 inches (5.4 cm) |
| Thread Size | 8-32 |
| Quantity | 12 brushes per pack |
Yes, if your cleaning rod uses standard 8-32 threaded adapters, these Brownells brushes will thread on securely. The 8-32 thread size is the common standard for .22 caliber pistol brushes and fits most field and bench cleaning setups.
The shank is cast as one piece, looped and wound, rather than twisted together and cut—a method that ensures strength without weak points. The phosphor bronze bristles are higher-quality scrubbing wire that resists wear, and the brass coupling is designed to avoid scratching your bore or chamber. These details add up to a brush that lasts longer and cleans better.
Absolutely. The brass shank is softer than steel, so it won't scratch your bore. That's precisely why these brushes use brass throughout—the material is proven safe for barrel cleaning and won't create the microscopic damage that can affect accuracy or finish.
This 12-pack lets you rotate through brushes so you always have a clean one ready and can let others dry out between cleanings. For regular shooters, that's a comfortable supply for a season's worth of maintenance.
