Brownells
A Brownells rifle aperture peep sight is a precision replacement disc for shooters who rely on open sights for hunting, target work, or tactical applications. This 3/8" diameter aperture with a .093" opening is engineered to mount on Williams-pattern sight systems, giving you the option to swap in the right disc for your shooting environment and lighting conditions. Whether you've lost or damaged an original disc, or simply want to experiment with different aperture sizes for better sight picture and accuracy, a quality replacement ensures your iron sights stay combat-ready or competition-sharp.
Aperture peep sights have proven their worth in the field and on the range for over a century. The small opening naturally centers your eye in the sight line, reducing parallax error and sharpening focus on the target. Unlike bulkier red-dot or magnified optics, a peep sight is rugged, battery-independent, and fast—ideal for hunters working thick cover, shooters running CQB drills, or anyone who values simplicity and reliability.
This Brownells disc is manufactured to fit standard-length shank Williams sight systems, specifically the Foolproof, Target Foolproof, and 5D models. Before ordering, confirm your sight model and shank length to ensure proper fit. If you're building or restoring a rifle with Williams irons, having a spare or replacement disc on hand is smart practice.
| Aperture Diameter | 3/8" |
| Opening Size | .093" |
| Shank Length | Standard |
| Compatible Sights | Williams Foolproof, Target Foolproof, 5D |
| Finish | Black |
This disc is designed for Williams Foolproof, Target Foolproof, and 5D sights with standard-length shanks. Check your sight model before ordering to confirm compatibility. Non-standard or longer shank versions will not fit properly.
A smaller aperture opening sharpens your sight picture and improves focus, especially at distance or in bright light. It's ideal for precision target shooting and hunting where accuracy is critical. Low-light or close-range hunting may benefit from a larger opening instead.
This is the aperture disc only—a replacement component for an existing Williams sight base and elevation/windage assembly. You'll need the sight body already installed on your rifle.
Yes. Williams aperture discs are designed for fast interchange without tools, so you can change them between stages at a match or swap for different hunting conditions without delay.
