Brownells
The Brownells Rifle 3/8" X .050" Twilight Aperture Peep Gold is a brass aperture sight upgrade designed to brighten your sight picture in dim hunting and field conditions. Built around a light-gathering brass ring that surrounds the peep opening itself, this gold-finished aperture collects and channels ambient light to your eye, making target acquisition noticeably easier when shooting in shadows, overcast weather, or early and late in the day—the times when you're most likely to be in the field. If you're running a Foolproof, Target Foolproof, or 5D sight system and find yourself squinting through a dark peep hole, this upgrade delivers a practical improvement without changing your sight's core mechanics or requiring a complete replacement.
Aperture peep sights remain one of the fastest, most accurate sight systems for hunting rifles and tactical applications, offering superior precision compared to open sights and none of the battery dependency of electronic optics. The Twilight design acknowledges a real weakness of traditional peeps: they can feel like looking through a tunnel in low light. The brass ring works passively—no batteries, no adjustments—simply gathering what light is available and making it work for you.
If you've invested in a Foolproof sight platform, this is the kind of smart accessory that extends its usefulness into your most demanding hunting scenarios. The gold finish is both functional (brass naturally gathers light) and durable.
| Aperture Diameter | 3/8" |
| Thickness | .050" |
| Finish | Gold |
| Compatible Sights | Foolproof, Target Foolproof, 5D |
This Brownells aperture fits Foolproof, Target Foolproof, and 5D sight systems only. Verify your sight model before ordering.
The brass ring surrounding the peep opening gathers ambient light and channels it to your eye, brightening your sight picture in shadows and overcast conditions without batteries or electronics.
Only if your rifle is equipped with a Foolproof, Target Foolproof, or 5D sight platform. This is an upgrade component for those specific systems, not a universal aperture.
