Brownells
Cleaning a fouled rifle bore doesn't have to mean running double patches through the bore every shot. The Brownells Heavy Duty Square Cotton Patches in .875" size are engineered for serious shooters and hunters who want maximum solvent absorption and fouling pickup in a single pass. Built from double-thick, soft-napped 100% cotton Canton flannel, these patches hold more cleaner and trap more carbon and copper than standard single-ply patches—letting you work more efficiently without wasting material or time at the bench.
The .875" square format fits .17, .20, and similarly sized calibers, making these patches suitable for precision rifle work, varmint hunting, and dedicated range sessions where bore cleanliness directly affects accuracy. A pack of 1000 gives you enough patches for serious cleaning without running out mid-session or overbuying specialty items you'll never use.
If you shoot smaller calibers and take bore maintenance seriously, heavy-duty patches reduce the stroke count and solvent needed per cleaning cycle. They're a small upgrade that adds up when you're running 50+ rounds downrange and need to keep your bore in fighting shape between outings.

| Patch Size | .875" square |
| Caliber Fit | .17, .20 Cal |
| Material | 100% Cotton Canton Flannel |
| Construction | Double-Thick, Soft-Napped |
| Quantity Per Pack | 1000 |
These patches are sized for .17 and .20 caliber rifles. The .875" square format fits these smaller bores without excessive overlap or bunching.
The double-thick construction allows a single patch to absorb more solvent and trap more fouling than a standard patch. For shooters running high round counts, this means fewer patches per cleaning and faster bore maintenance.
Yes. They're made from 100% cotton and work with standard gun cleaning solvents and oils.
That depends on bore condition and your cleaning routine. The heavy-duty construction is designed to do more work per patch than standard patches, but we don't have specific round-count data to guarantee a particular number.
