Brownells
The Brownells Handguard Alignment Tool is a precision jig built to solve one of the most common frustrations in AR-platform builds: keeping your free-float handguard perfectly aligned with your receiver rail while you torque down the locking ring. If you've wrestled with a handguard that looks straight until you snug it up, only to find it's twisted, this tool eliminates that guesswork. It's a straightforward solution that works with railed free-float tubes—slide it on, set the setscrews, tighten the ring, and you're done.
Why does handguard alignment matter? Because everything you mount on that rail depends on it. Night vision devices, vertical grips, flip-up front sights, and other tactical accessories all assume your handguard is true to the receiver. Misalignment throws everything off. This jig locks the top rail in perfect parallel with your receiver rail, keeping it there while you apply clamping force. It's the kind of tool that pays for itself the first few builds by saving time and eliminating reinstalls.
Built tough for the job: Brownells machined this from 6061 billet aluminum and hardcoat anodized it for durability and years of reliable use. It's not complicated—no learning curve, no special setup. Grab it, use it, move on. A smart addition to any gunsmith's kit or for the builder who wants to do it right the first time.

| Finish | Hardcoat Anodized |
| Compatibility | Railed free-float handguards with locking ring |
| Type | Handguard Alignment Jig |
The Brownells tool is designed for railed, free-float handguard tubes equipped with a locking ring. Check your handguard specifications to confirm it has a top rail and uses a clamp-style locking ring for mounting.
Absolutely. By ensuring your handguard rail is perfectly aligned with your receiver rail, you eliminate a common source of misalignment for everything mounted on top—night vision devices, red dots, vertical grips, and flip-up sights all depend on true rail alignment to function as designed.
Slide the jig onto both the receiver rail and handguard rail, use the setscrews to secure it in place, then tighten your locking ring. Once the ring is snug, remove the tool. The handguard is now perfectly aligned.
