Brownells
The Brownells Gunsmith Bench Vise Jaw, Rubber is a specialized replacement jaw insert designed to protect delicate workpieces during vising operations. If you work with wood, plastic, or thin-walled tubing in your gunsmithing or general shop work, these soft rubber jaws let you clamp securely without marring or crushing fragile materials. The rubber facing is backed by three layers of canvas, which stabilize the material and prevent the rubber from deforming excessively under clamping pressure, keeping your workpiece safe while you work.
These jaws mount directly to your Brownells Gunsmith's Bench Vise via powerful rare-earth magnets embedded in the aluminum jaw body. The aluminum construction itself serves an important purpose: it won't magnetize steel parts you're holding, so you avoid any unwanted magnetic interference during precision work. Installation and swapping is straightforward—simply slide the inserts over the factory vise jaws to swap between different jaw types depending on your project.
The soft synthetic rubber material is engineered to conform gently to workpiece surfaces, allowing you to hold even the most delicate items with minimal clamping force. Whether you're holding a wood furniture component, plastic grip panel, or thin tube, the rubber jaws grip without the denting and scratching you'd risk with hardened steel or aluminum. The canvas backing ensures the jaws maintain their shape through repeated use, so you get consistent, reliable hold session after session.
