The Brownells BRN-4 5.56×45 NATO 14.5" heavy barrel is a purpose-built upper receiver component for HK 416–compatible builds. Machined by Faxon, this barrel delivers the rigid, dependable performance you need in a modern piston-driven platform, whether you're running a dedicated duty rifle, a precision trainer, or a versatile do-it-all carbine. The 14.5" length strikes a practical balance between velocity and handling, while the heavy profile keeps harmonics consistent and minimizes flex under sustained fire or precision strings.

Chrome lining and phosphate finish work together to give you a barrel that shrugs off hard use and harsh conditions. The interior chrome plating resists corrosion and makes cleanup fast, while the external phosphate coating provides a matte, durable surface that won't announce your position. Button rifling with a 1:7 twist accommodates the full spectrum of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition, so you're never locked into one load or manufacturer. Half-minute-of-angle muzzle threads (1/2×28) accept any standard flash hider, suppressor, or muzzle brake in that pattern.

The BRN-4 ecosystem is purpose-designed: this barrel uses the distinctive longer barrel extension for a solid, wobble-free fit with early-generation HK 416 upper receivers and the BRN-4 bolt carrier group. Installation is straightforward with the matching BRN-4 barrel nut; all BRN-4 barrels share the same piston rod assembly, so you only need to select the correct gas block for your barrel length. The heavy contour gives you the classic HK 416 geometry—proven in the field, built for consistency.
