The BnM Black Widow Pole 20' is a dedicated crappie fishing rod built for anglers who want a purpose-built tool for shallow-water panfish work. Whether you're working creek channels, brushy shorelines, or standing timber, a 20-foot pole extends your reach and lets you present baits and small lures with precision and control that shorter rods simply can't match. The Black Widow name signals tough, no-nonsense construction—this is working gear for folks who fish crappie seriously.
A longer pole demands discipline and technique, and that's exactly the kind of angler who chooses a dedicated 20-footer. You'll cover more water, stay farther back from spooked fish, and work vertical presentations in tight cover with finesse. The extended length gives you mechanical advantage for setting hooks and landing fish in dense structure without the rod tip slapping water or snags.
BnM has built a solid reputation in the crappie and panfish pole market, and the Black Widow line carries that heritage. This is equipment designed for the fundamentals: long casts unnecessary, stealth and precision paramount, and durability through seasons of use.
A 20-foot pole excels at precision presentations in shallow water—creek channels, standing timber, brush, and docks. The extended length keeps you at a distance from fish, reduces shadows on the water, and lets you lower baits or lures vertically or at shallow angles without spooking crappie in clear water.
Longer poles require more practice and body control than shorter rods. If you're new to pole fishing, you may want to start with a shorter model and work your way up to 20 feet as your technique develops.
Poles have no reel—you tie your line directly to the tip. They're simpler, more durable, and ideal for short-range precision work. Rods have reels and cast farther but aren't designed for the close-quarters, vertical presentation work that poles do best.
