The B&M Best Ultralite Pole 12' in two pieces is purpose-built for crappie, bream, and trout anglers who want to feel every subtle bite without sacrificing durability or control. At 12 feet long, this two-piece crappie fishing rod extends your reach for vertical jigging in brush, timber, and open water—giving you the advantage of longer casts and better depth coverage than shorter conventional rods. The entire pole is crafted from 100% ultra-light graphite with a reinforced tip section, so you get a responsive blank that telegraphs light bites directly to your hand while remaining strong enough for solid hook sets on tender-mouthed panfish.
The signature "touch system" design places your fingers in direct contact with the graphite shaft, eliminating the barrier of traditional guides and reel seats for maximum sensitivity. This direct connection lets you detect the subtlest nibbles—critical when crappie are finicky—while the tapered graphite construction bends into a smooth, load-balanced arc that absorbs the initial run without risk of breakage. The non-slip grip keeps the rod secure during long jigging sessions, so you're not fighting fatigue or losing control when you need to set the hook hard.
Because it breaks down into two pieces, the Best Ultralite stows easily in a truck, boat locker, or tackle bag, making it practical for anglers who fish multiple waters or travel to distant lakes. Light enough to fish all day without arm strain, tough enough to handle consistent jigging and repeated hook sets, this pole is the go-to choice for serious crappie hunters who've learned that sensitivity and strength aren't mutually exclusive.
| Length | 12 feet |
| Pieces | 2 |
| Material | 100% Ultra-light Graphite |
| Primary Use | Crappie, bream, and trout jigging |
This pole excels for crappie, bream, and trout, particularly when vertical jigging. The 12-foot length and ultra-light graphite construction make it ideal for panfish and light-tackle applications.
The touch system allows your fingers to make direct contact with the graphite rod blank, bypassing traditional guides and reel hardware. This direct connection transmits light bites and subtle movements instantly to your hand, giving you the sensitivity needed to detect crappie and other panfish when they're biting tentatively.
Yes—the two-piece design breaks down compactly for easy transport in vehicles, boats, or tackle bags. The ultra-light graphite keeps overall weight minimal, so it won't weigh you down whether you're moving between fishing spots or storing it between seasons.
The reinforced tip section and smooth graphite arc provide solid strength for setting the hook on panfish and fighting them in, despite the ultra-light weight. The no-load bend design absorbs the shock of hard hook sets without risk of breakage, making it suitable for consistent jigging and repeated casts.
