Birchwood Casey
The Birchwood Casey World of Targets Hostage Silhouette with Paddle Target System combines durable steel construction with practical feedback to give shooters of all levels a reliable tool for range work and skill development. Built around a half-inch thick AR500 steel center mass silhouette, this target system handles rifle and pistol fire without the fragility of paper or reactive targets. The six-inch swinging paddle design provides instant visual feedback on hits—particularly useful when shooting at distance or in groups where calling shots matters.
If you're dialing in a new rifle, running through a defensive shooting drill, or simply putting in trigger time, this hostage silhouette target keeps your focus on technique rather than target replacement. AR500 steel withstands repeated centerfire rifle rounds and pistol impacts, making it a genuine long-term investment compared to consumable paper or clay alternatives. The paddle mechanism swings freely on impact, eliminating the need for marker pens or frequent target changes between strings.
Birchwood Casey has built their reputation on targets that work hard for both casual shooters and competition-focused competitors. This system fits that bill: no-nonsense design, straightforward setup, and performance that doesn't quit. Whether you're training at a 25-yard pistol range or stretching legs at rifle distances, the 11-inch by 18-inch silhouette provides a realistic aiming reference that suits a wide range of practice goals.
| Steel Thickness | 1/2 inch AR500 |
| Paddle Size | 6 inches |
| Silhouette Dimensions | 11 inches wide x 18 inches tall |
| Target Type | Center Mass Hostage Silhouette |
The half-inch AR500 steel is designed to handle centerfire rifle and pistol fire. Always ensure a proper backstop and safe shooting environment, and follow your range's safety rules.
The six-inch paddle swings freely when hit, providing immediate visual feedback on your shots without requiring you to walk downrange or mark the target manually between strings.
Steel targets eliminate the need for frequent replacement and marker pen marking, making them more economical and convenient for regular training. They're particularly valuable if you shoot in groups or at longer distances where shot verification matters.
The 11 by 18 inch center mass silhouette gives you a realistic aiming reference—particularly useful for defensive or tactical training where shot placement on vital zones matters, as well as general rifle and pistol marksmanship practice.
