Birchwood Casey gun cleaning patches in 7mm-.38 caliber are the workhorse of rifle maintenance. Whether you're breaking in a new barrel, running a post-hunt deep clean, or keeping your precision rifle ready between range sessions, these cotton patches strike the balance every shooter needs: they're absorbent enough to carry solvent and fouling out of the bore, durable enough to handle vigorous scrubbing without shredding, and lint-free so you're not leaving fibers behind. The 1.75-inch size fits standard rod guides and jags for the mid-range caliber spectrum, and a 750-count pack means you've got enough on hand for serious shooters, gunsmiths, and anyone who maintains more than a couple of rifles.

The cross-weave cotton construction has been proven by professionals—gunsmiths, armorers, and dedicated hunters—since Birchwood Casey started making cleaning products in 1948. That long track record isn't marketing; it's the result of building products that work and last. These patches are designed to soak up solvents and hold carbon and copper fouling without falling apart mid-stroke, which matters when you're pushing a bronze brush down a tight bore or swabbing out stubborn residue.

If you shoot regularly—whether centerfire rifle, handgun, or both—buying in bulk makes sense. A 750-pack might seem like overkill until you run a full cleaning cycle on a couple of firearms and realize how many patches a thorough job actually requires. Stock these in your cleaning kit, your range bag, and your bench, and you won't be caught short.

Frequently Asked Questions

What calibers do these patches work with?

These patches are sized for 7mm and .38 caliber rifles and handguns. The 1.75-inch dimensions fit standard cleaning rod jags and guides for that caliber range.

Will these patches leave lint or fibers in my bore?

No. The cross-weave cotton is designed to be lint-free, so you won't leave fibers behind during cleaning.

How many patches should I expect to use per cleaning?

That depends on how dirty the bore is and how thorough you want to be, but a 750-count pack provides enough patches for extensive maintenance on multiple firearms or repeated deep cleans without running out.

Are these patches suitable for both solvent and dry cleaning?

Yes. The absorbent cotton construction handles both wet cleaning with solvents and dry patches for final bore prep.
