Birchwood Casey
The Birchwood Casey 4" Square Gong is a centerfire rifle target built for shooters who want audible, visual feedback on every hit without leaving the range. Manufactured from AR500 steel and engineered to handle up to 3000 foot-pounds of bullet energy, this 3/8" thick steel target delivers the durability serious shooters expect. Whether you're zeroing a hunting rifle, running drills at an outdoor range, or practicing long-distance accuracy, this compact steel gong gives you instant confirmation of impact—no guessing, no walking downrange to inspect paper.
The laser-cut construction ensures clean, burr-free edges that won't snag or catch, and the bright white powder coat finish makes bullet strikes easy to spot from behind the gun. At 4 inches square, it's sized for precision work without unnecessary bulk, fitting easily into mobile range setups or permanent installations. Multiple mounting options give you flexibility to hang, clamp, or stake the target to suit your range layout.
Birchwood Casey has built a reputation with shooters—from weekend range days to serious competition prep—by delivering affordable, reliable targets that stand up to hard use. This gong is no exception: it's a workhorse target that lets you shoot fast, see results immediately, and move on to the next drill.

Avoid shooting with bullets or loads exceeding the 3000 ft-lb rating, as this risks damage to the target and potential ricochet hazards.
Yes. The 4" square face is sized for precision shooting at distance, and AR500 steel is built to handle the impact from high-velocity rifle rounds. The white powder coat finish helps you see strikes clearly from downrange.
The BC-SQR4-38 features multiple mounting options, allowing you to hang, clamp, or stake it depending on your range setup. Confirm your preferred mounting method and hardware before installation.
At 4 inches square and made from AR500 steel, it's compact enough for mobile range days and outdoor practice, though the steel weight means it's not ultralight. It works well for backcountry ranges, established range setups, and home range installations.
