Bill Lewis Baits
The Bill Lewis Rattle Trap 1/2 oz in Rayburn Red Craw is a lipless crankbait built to trigger aggressive strikes across shallow and deep water. This classic hard bait design lets you cover water fast—whether you're casting shallow grass beds, working points, or burning the lure over submerged structure. The compact 1/2 oz profile makes it versatile enough for a variety of bass fishing scenarios, and the Rayburn Red Craw color delivers a natural crawfish-imitating profile that bass recognize and hunt.
Rattle Traps are known for their internal rattle and flashy action, combining noise and vibration to get the attention of fish in heavy cover and murky conditions. You can fish them straight retrieve in skinny water, or let them sink to bottom and crank them back up structure, where they'll bang and deflect off rocks and stumps—exactly the kind of commotion that triggers territorial strikes. The lipless design means no lip means no hangup on shallow obstructions, letting you power through grass and timber where bass hide.
Whether you're working shallow banks early in the morning, searching deep ledges midday, or covering transition zones, the Rattle Trap's earned its reputation as a go-to crankbait for fast, efficient bass fishing. The Rayburn Red Craw color is a solid choice when crawfish are on the forage menu or when you need a natural-looking profile that doesn't spook fish in clear water.

| Product Type | Lipless Crankbait |
| Weight | 1/2 oz |
| Color | Rayburn Red Craw |
The Rattle Trap works in shallow to deep water. Cast and crank it in shallow grass beds and along banks, or allow it to sink and retrieve it back up deep structure and points. The 1/2 oz weight sinks at a moderate rate, giving you flexibility to work various depths depending on your retrieve speed and pause timing.
Yes. The Rayburn Red Craw mimics natural crawfish and works well in clear water conditions where bass can see natural forage profiles. It's also effective in stained water where the red-brown tones remain visible.
The lipless crankbait design makes it well-suited for shallow grass beds and timber. Without a lip to catch, it deflects off obstructions and lets you power through cover where bass often wait in ambush.
Try a steady cast-and-crank retrieve in shallow water, or use a sink-and-crank method in deeper structure—let it settle toward bottom, then crank it back up slopes and around points. The internal rattle and erratic action triggers strikes under either technique.
