Big Bite Baits
The Big Bite Fat Grub 2" is a chunky, profile-heavy crappie bait that brings serious action to shallow water and structure. Whether you're working cypress trees, brush piles, or docks, these 10-count packs give you the bulk and tail movement that crappie can't ignore. The black and chartreuse color combo works in clear water and low-light conditions alike, making it a reliable choice when you need to trigger strikes without overthinking it.
Built for both traditional jig fishing and simple slip-sinker rigs, the Fat Grub's chunky body displaces water and creates vibration that pulls crappie in from distance. The large curly tail adds continuous motion even on a slow retrieve, so you stay in the strike zone longer. Anglers targeting spawning crappie, schooling fish near vegetation, or those fishing deeper brush will find this bait produces when the bite gets selective.
Each pack contains 10 grubs, so you've got enough to handle a full day or recover losses to snags and cover. The black/chartreuse pattern offers visibility and contrast in a range of water conditions—crisp enough in clear lakes, flashy enough in stained water. This is workhorse crappie bait for folks who'd rather fish than fuss.
| Product | Big Bite Fat Grub |
| Length | 2 inches |
| Count per Pack | 10 |
| Color | Black/Chartreuse |
| Target Species | Crappie |
The 2-inch Fat Grub works well on light jig heads (typically 1/32 to 1/16 ounce) for shallow crappie fishing, though head weight depends on water depth and current. Start light and adjust for the depth and cover you're fishing.
Yes. Black provides contrast and silhouette in most conditions, while chartreuse adds visibility in stained water and low light. This combination covers clear lakes, moderately stained water, and dawn/dusk periods effectively.
The Fat Grub is designed and optimized for crappie. While panfish species may take it, for best results use baits matched to the species and conditions you're targeting.
Each pack contains 10 Fat Grubs, giving you plenty for a full day on the water or to account for losses to cover and snags.
