Betts Tackle
The Betts Trim Gim Yellow/Black Size 10 is a cork-bodied popper designed to imitate baitfish and draw aggressive strikes from surface-feeding species. The distinctive bullet-shaped body, combined with rubber legs, creates natural-looking movement and vibration in the water—exactly what panfish, bass, and other predators respond to when hunting near the surface. Built on a Mustad hook and cemented for durability, this popper is a straightforward, proven choice for anglers who want reliable topwater action without overcomplicating their fly box.
Poppers work best in shallow water, around grass beds, fallen timber, and structure where fish are actively feeding. The yellow and black color scheme is classic for visibility and contrast, making it easier for fish to locate and track your fly. Whether you're working small ponds, creeks, or the shallows of larger waters, a popper that moves with confidence will trigger takes when other patterns fall short.
Betts has been building proven fly patterns for decades, and the Trim Gim reflects that no-nonsense approach: simple design, quality materials, and proven productivity. If you're after a topwater popper that does what it's supposed to do without gimmicks, this is a solid addition to your kit.

| Body Material | Cork |
| Color | Yellow/Black |

Size 10 poppers work well for panfish, bluegill, small bass, and other species that hunt in shallow water and respond to surface disturbance. The yellow and black pattern is visible and attractive to a wide range of freshwater predators.
Poppers perform best in calm or light-ripple conditions where the movement and sound carry effectively. Fish shallow water around structure—grass beds, logs, lily pads, and shoreline brush—where predators hunt near the surface.
Based on the facts provided, this popper is designed as a standard freshwater fly. If you're considering saltwater use, verify durability and corrosion resistance before deploying in salt water.
Cast near structure and use short, sharp strips followed by pauses to create commotion and vibration. The rubber legs and cork body are designed to move and wiggle with these movements, triggering predatory instinct. Vary your retrieval pace until you find what's working on the day.
