Berry's Superior Plated Handgun Bullets in .40 S&W and 10mm are a clean, consistent choice for serious reloaders who shoot indoors or need reliable performance without lead splash concerns. These 165-grain hollow base flat point bullets use a swaged lead core electroplated with copper to finished weight—no exposed lead—then re-struck for a solid, uniform bond. The result is ammunition that shoots true and keeps your range cleaner.
Whether you're loading for your .40 S&W or 10mm, these plated bullets deliver the accuracy and consistency that reloading demands. The hollow base flat point profile is proven for target work and general shooting applications. Since there's no lead exposure, they're safe for indoor ranges where lead concerns matter. The re-striking process ensures every bullet seats and performs the same way, round after round—a real advantage when you're trying to build tight groups or dial in your loads.
Loading these bullets follows standard practices: use cast or jacketed load data for the same grain weight and profile from any reloading manual or powder maker's website. You can taper or roll crimp to your preference, but don't over-crimp after seating—excessive crimp causes bullet core separation and accuracy loss. Respect the 1500 fps maximum velocity ceiling to maintain the integrity of the plating and avoid the separation issues that tank accuracy.
| Caliber | .40 S&W / 10mm (.401" diameter) |
| Weight | 165 grains |
| Bullet Style | Hollow Base Flat Point (HBFPTP) |
| Construction | Electroplated copper jacket, swaged lead core |
| .40 S&W O.A.L. | 1.125" |
| 10mm O.A.L. | 1.250" |
| Maximum Velocity | 1500 fps (both calibers) |
| Quantity | 10 bullets |
Yes. These .401" diameter bullets work in both calibers, but note the different overall lengths: 1.125" for .40 S&W and 1.250" for 10mm. Use the appropriate load data for each cartridge.
Load data for Berry's Superior Plated Bullets can be found in any reloading manual or on powder manufacturer websites. Since these are 165-grain bullets, you can use cast or jacketed load data with the same grain weight and profile.
Yes. Because the lead core is completely encased in electroplated copper with no exposed lead, these bullets are indoor range safe—ideal if you shoot in facilities with lead-exposure concerns.
You can use either a taper or roll crimp. Do not over-crimp after seating the bullet, as excessive crimp can cause the bullet core to separate from the jacket, leading to increased copper fouling and accuracy problems. Additionally, never exceed the 1500 fps maximum velocity, as this also risks core separation and degraded accuracy.
