Berry's Hybrid HP handgun bullets for 9mm offer reloaders a reliable, purpose-built option for target practice, training, and defensive loads. The .356" diameter, 124-grain hollow point design combines proven HP geometry with a copper-plated, swaged lead core construction—delivering consistent performance across a wide velocity range. With a 1000-count box, these bullets are economical for high-volume shooters building their own ammunition.
The Hybrid hollow point design merges two separate developmental HP concepts into one round. When loaded within the recommended velocity window, you're looking at 11–13 inches of penetration in ballistic gelatin, which puts these bullets squarely in the practical zone for 9mm handloading. The minimum 98 percent weight retention means the bullet stays largely intact through the target, resisting fragmentation and maintaining energy transfer predictably.
Berry's has engineered these for accuracy alongside performance. The maximum overall length (COL) of 1.169" gives you a safe reference point when seating, and the recommended velocity band of 1050–1150 fps covers most common 9mm loads without pushing beyond safe pressure limits. Whether you're loading for a Glock, M&P, or any other 9mm platform, these bullets are a solid foundation for consistent, repeatable handloads.
| Caliber | 9mm (.356") |
| Weight | 124 grains |
| Bullet Style | Hollow Point (Hybrid design) |
| Construction | Copper-plated, swaged lead core |
| Maximum Overall Length (SAAMI) | 1.169" |
| Recommended Velocity | 1050–1150 fps |
| Penetration (ballistic gelatin) | 11–13 inches |
| Weight Retention | Minimum 98% |
| Quantity | 1000 per box |
Berry's Hybrid HP .356" bullets work with any standard 9mm platform—rifles, pistols, and carbines—as long as your chamber and magazine will accept 9mm ammunition. The 124-grain weight is one of the most common 9mm bullet weights and will function in virtually all 9mm firearms.
Berry's recommends loading these bullets to 1050–1150 fps. Staying within that window ensures you'll achieve the designed penetration (11–13 inches in gelatin) and weight retention (98% minimum) without exceeding safe pressure limits in your firearm.
When loaded at the recommended velocities, these bullets penetrate 11–13 inches in ballistic gelatin with excellent accuracy. The design favors controlled penetration over shallow expansion, making them suitable for both target work and duty-grade applications.
Yes. The SAAMI maximum overall length (COL) for these bullets is 1.169". Always consult your reloading manual for your specific firearm and powder combination, but 1.169" is the absolute ceiling for safe feeding and chamber pressure.
