Bergara
If you're serious about precision shooting, Berger 22 caliber (.224) 52 grain HPFB target bullets belong in your handload. These match-grade projectiles are built for shooters who demand consistency shot after shot—whether you're competing at the benchrest line or dialing in loads for mid-range target work out to 300 yards and beyond. The flat base design keeps things simple and reliable, eliminating variables that complicate tuning and load development.
Berger engineered these bullets with a tangent ogive profile that makes them forgiving to load and tune. The geometry feeds smoothly into your seating die and chambers without fuss, so you can focus on what matters: powder charge, primer selection, and finding that one-ragged-hole group. Flat base construction works beautifully for target distances where a boat tail adds no meaningful advantage, keeping your component cost reasonable without sacrificing accuracy.
The secret to their precision is under the jacket: Berger uses J4 Precision jackets manufactured to exceptionally tight tolerances. Total Indicated Runout comes in at +/- .0001 inch—tight enough that bullet-to-bullet variation won't sabotage your handload. That level of consistency, combined with the tangent ogive design, gives you the foundation for match-winning accuracy. These are the bullets benchrest and target shooters reach for when they're chasing groups that matter.

Yes. Berger designed these 52 grain HPFB bullets specifically for competitive shooters pursuing maximum accuracy. The match-grade J4 Precision jackets and tangent ogive profile make them ideal for benchrest competition and target work.
The flat base design performs excellently at mid-range distances of 300 yards and beyond, where a boat tail configuration offers no practical advantage. They're particularly suited to target shooting rather than extended long-range work.
Berger's J4 Precision jackets hold a Total Indicated Runout of +/- .0001 inch with extremely tight manufacturing tolerances throughout. This consistency minimizes bullet-to-bullet variation and supports the precision loads you're trying to develop.
No. The tangent ogive design makes these bullets easy to load and tune. They seat smoothly and are forgiving during handload development, so you can focus on powder, primers, and charge weight optimization.
