Barnes Bullets
The Barnes Bullets Tipped TSX 450 caliber rifle bullet combines proven copper construction with modern aerodynamic design, making it a reliable choice for handloaders working with larger-caliber rifles. This 250-grain boat tail bullet brings together the best traits of Barnes' established TSX line—a solid copper body with multiple ring geometry for controlled expansion—and adds a streamlined polymer tip that enhances ballistic coefficient for improved downrange performance. Whether you're loading for dangerous game, long-range hunting, or precision rifle work in 450 caliber, the Tipped TSX delivers the kind of terminal performance that serious reloaders depend on.
The polymer tip works in concert with a redesigned nose cavity to promote rapid, consistent expansion on impact while maintaining exceptional weight retention through the target. This means more energy transfer to the game, less deflection from heavy bone, and predictable results across a wide velocity range. The boat tail profile aids in both ballistic efficiency and feeding reliability in magazine-fed rifles. Each box contains 20 bullets, so you have adequate volume for load development, testing, and regular hunting use.
Barnes Bullets' commitment to all-copper construction means these projectiles are compatible with jurisdictions that restrict lead ammunition—an increasingly important consideration for hunters in certain regions. If you're building loads for a larger-caliber rifle and want a bullet engineered for both accuracy and performance on game, the Tipped TSX is engineered to deliver on both fronts.
| Caliber | 450 (0.450") |
| Weight | 250 grains |
| Bullet Style | Tipped TSX, Boat Tail |
| Construction | Solid copper with multiple ring geometry |
| Quantity per Box | 20 bullets |
The Tipped TSX adds a streamlined polymer tip to the proven TSX platform. The tip improves ballistic coefficient for better long-range velocity retention, while the re-engineered nose cavity provides even faster expansion than the standard TSX, all while maintaining near-complete weight retention.
Yes. Barnes Bullets are manufactured from solid copper, making them a lead-free option suitable for areas with ammunition composition restrictions.
These are 450 caliber (0.450") bullets designed for rifles chambered in 450 caliber. You should verify your specific rifle's chamber specifications and consult load data for your particular firearm and powder combination.
Each box contains 20 bullets, providing a good quantity for load development and regular use.
