The Ballistic Advantage 223 Wylde 16" OPS12 Pro rifle barrel is purpose-built for shooters running suppressed, tactical AR platforms. Chambered in 223 Wylde and machined from hardened 416R stainless steel, this mid-length gas system barrel delivers the precision and durability you need whether you're on the range, in competition, or running a professional-grade build. The OPS12 designation refers to its Mk12 Mod H profile with a .750" gas block journal — the specific dimension required for proper mounting of OPS Inc suppressors and collars, making it an ideal choice if you're committed to running quality sound mitigation on your rifle.

Built tough for the job, this barrel features a QPQ corrosion-resistant finish on 416R stainless and includes a nickel boron-coated extended M4 feed ramp extension as part of Ballistic Advantage's Premium Black Series construction. The 1/8" twist rate stabilizes a wide range of projectile weights in 223 Wylde, and the 1/2x28 threaded muzzle accommodates standard suppressors and muzzle devices. At 32 ounces, it balances durability with a practical weight for modern rifle setups.

If you're building or upgrading a suppressed tactical carbine, an SPR-style rifle, or a mid-range precision platform, the OPS12 Pro barrel solves the suppressor integration puzzle without compromise. Ballistic Advantage's attention to feed ramp quality and material selection means you get consistent, reliable performance from a manufacturer trusted by builders and professionals alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this barrel compatible with OPS Inc suppressors?

Yes. The .750" gas block journal and Mk12 Mod H profile are specifically designed for proper installation and mounting of OPS Inc 12th model suppressors and collars.

What does 223 Wylde mean, and what ammunition can I use?

223 Wylde is a hybrid chamber that fires standard 5.56 NATO and 223 Remington ammunition safely and accurately. The 1/8" twist rate stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights in both cartridges.

What is the gas system length, and how does it affect performance?

This barrel uses a mid-length gas system, which is a common choice for 16" carbine builds. It provides a balance between reliability, shooter comfort (less aggressive recoil impulse), and practical cycling with suppressors.

Does this barrel come with an extension or feed ramp upgrade?

Yes. It includes an extended M4 feed ramp extension with nickel boron coating, which is part of Ballistic Advantage's Premium Black Series construction and improves feeding reliability.
