B5 Systems
The B5 Systems AK Handguard in Plum is a drop-in upgrade for AKM-pattern stamped receivers that transforms the ergonomics and modularity of your rifle without requiring gunsmithing. If you run an AK and want better control, easier accessory mounting, and protection from barrel heat, this American-made composite handguard delivers all three in a distinctive finish that stands apart on the rifle line.
Built from durable composite material, the lower handguard incorporates an integral stainless steel heat shield to keep your hand safe during rapid fire or sustained shooting. The aggressive surface texture grips your palm even in wet conditions or with gloved hands, giving you the control you need when things get serious. Multiple M-LOK attachment points let you mount lights, lasers, slings, or other tactical gear exactly where you want it—something you don't get with milsurp furniture.
B5 Systems manufactures this handguard in the USA, and the composite construction keeps weight down at 2.72 ounces. Fitment to standard AKM receivers is generally straightforward, though like any aftermarket AK part, minor fitting may be required depending on your specific rifle's tolerances and manufacturing variance. Plum is a classic, period-correct color that looks right on just about any build while being unmistakably your own at the range or in the field.

The B5 AK Handguard is designed as a drop-in replacement for standard AKM-pattern stamped receivers. Due to manufacturing tolerance variations across different AK manufacturers, some minor fitment may be required. If you're uncertain about your rifle's compatibility, reach out with details about your specific AK model.
The integral stainless steel heat shield protects your support-side hand from the barrel and gas tube during rapid fire or extended shooting strings. If you plan to shoot more than a few rounds in quick succession, especially with a rifle as inherently piston-driven and warm as an AK, the shield is a practical safety feature that comes standard—you don't have to buy it separately.
Yes. The handguard features multiple M-LOK attachment points, so you can mount lights, lasers, slings, and other tactical accessories without drilling holes or using proprietary mounts. This modularity is a major upgrade over most factory or surplus AK furniture.
Plum is a deep burgundy or wine-colored finish that's both historically inspired and visually distinctive. It's the same durable composite material and performance as the black and OD green options—purely an aesthetic choice that lets your rifle stand out.
