Auto Ordnance
The Auto Ordnance 1927A3 Rifle in .22 LR is a semi-automatic rimfire that trades the historical heft of its inspiration for practical, affordable trigger time. Built on the iconic Thompson submachine gun profile, this .22 LR rifle delivers the distinctive lines and ergonomics shooters love—lever cocking, classic controls, that unmistakable silhouette—without the expense, complexity, or regulatory headaches of centerfire alternatives. The 16.5" barrel keeps it handy for plinking, small game, and casual range work, while the .22 LR cartridge makes each round a bargain. The 10-round magazine feeds reliably, and the brown finish on the furniture gives it a vintage field rifle feel that looks right at home in any collection.
This is the rifle for shooters who want the Thompson mystique without breaking the bank or keeping a licensed dealer on speed dial. Whether you're introducing a new shooter to semi-automatic rifle handling, running drills on a budget, or just enjoying the nostalgia and accuracy of a properly-tuned .22 platform, the 1927A3 delivers authentic Thompson ergonomics in a caliber that's forgiving, quiet, and fun. The compact barrel makes it manageable in confined spaces or from the bench, and the familiar control layout means any shooter comfortable with other semi-auto rifles will pick it up instantly.
Auto Ordnance has been building these rifles for decades, and this model respects that heritage while staying practical for modern shooters. It's a niche rifle that fills a real gap: you get the gun-handling and historical appeal without the investment or paperwork of a Class III transfer or the cost of running centerfire ammunition downrange all day.
