The ATI Cavalry 28G over/under shotgun is a refined choice for hunters and sport shooters who value balance, control, and elegant handling in a smaller-gauge platform. Chambered in 28 gauge with a 2.75" chamber, this shotgun delivers the reduced recoil and milder report that make it ideal for upland bird hunting, clay target sports, or anyone who prefers a lighter-recoiling option without sacrificing pattern quality. The 26" barrel strikes a practical middle ground—responsive enough for quick target acquisition yet long enough to pattern shot efficiently.
Build quality shows throughout. The action is over/under, a proven design that gives you two shots on demand, and the single selective trigger lets you choose which barrel fires first. The barrels are forged from 4140 chrome moly steel, a tough, corrosion-resistant alloy that handles standard and magnum 28-gauge loads. Ejectors throw empties clear after each shot, speeding up your reload cycle when it counts. A brass front bead sight provides a simple, reliable aiming reference that works in changing light.
The stock is Turkish walnut finished in oil, a classic look that feels as good as it looks. Walnut absorbs recoil naturally and ages beautifully with use, developing character over years of field time. This isn't a tactical gun or a modern synthetic—it's a traditional shotgun built for hunters who appreciate straightforward handling and honest craftsmanship.

The 28 gauge is smaller and lighter than both 12 and 20 gauge. It produces significantly less recoil and a softer shooting experience, making it an excellent choice for younger shooters, those sensitive to recoil, or hunters who prioritize target control and follow-up accuracy. The trade-off is a lighter shot charge, though modern 28-gauge loads perform well on upland birds and clay targets within reasonable range.
Yes. The over/under action, single selective trigger, and barrel length make it versatile for both pursuits. Many upland hunters and clay shooters favor 28-gauge guns for their handling and lower recoil, and the ATI Cavalry's traditional design works equally well in the field or at the trap range.
A single selective trigger allows you to choose which barrel (top or bottom) fires first when you pull the trigger once. This flexibility lets you sequence your shots strategically—for example, you might fire a tighter-choked barrel first at distant birds, then use the more open choke for a closer follow-up shot. After the first shot, the trigger is automatically set to fire the other barrel on the next pull.
Yes. Ejectors automatically pop spent shells out of the chambers when you open the action, rather than requiring you to remove them by hand. This speeds up reloading and is especially handy when wearing gloves or when speed matters in the field.
