American Tactical Imports
The ATI Cavalry Sport over/under shotgun in 28 gauge is a refined choice for hunters and sport shooters who value precision and tradition in a lighter-recoiling platform. Built by American Tactical Imports, this 28" barrel shotgun delivers the handling and pointability that make upland hunting and clay shooting genuinely enjoyable, even during long days afield. The 28 gauge has earned its reputation as a discriminating shooter's gauge—less blast, less recoil, and enough shot payload for most upland game and sporting clays when you focus on shot placement.
The Cavalry Sport's over/under design balances reliability with classic aesthetics. The ejector mechanism automatically ejects fired shells, speeding your reload cycle and keeping your workflow clean. Wood furniture gives this shotgun its traditional character while the 10mm rib aids target acquisition and sight picture consistency. At 28" the barrel length strikes a practical middle ground—enough velocity and sight radius for hunting and sport shooting without the front-heavy feel of longer tubes.
Whether you're working through a stand of birds, patterning loads on the range, or breaking clays, the Cavalry Sport rewards smooth gun handling and deliberate shooting. Its 2.75" chamber accommodates standard 28-gauge ammunition, the most economical option in the gauge. This is a shotgun built for shooters who understand that smaller bores demand better technique—and that technique, once developed, makes you a better shot across the board.

Yes. The 28 gauge is a proven upland shotgun, particularly effective on quail, woodcock, and grouse. Success depends on shot selection and shooting discipline—keep your range reasonable and focus on precision. Many experienced upland hunters prefer the 28 for its lighter recoil and handling in thick cover.
The ejector mechanism automatically kicks fired shells out of the chamber when you open the breech, rather than leaving them loose inside. This speeds your reload cycle and keeps your workflow efficient.
The Cavalry Sport chambers 2.75" shells in 28 gauge. This is the standard 28-gauge load and the most readily available and economical option in the gauge.
Absolutely. The 28 gauge is common in sporting clays and requires slightly tighter shooting, which builds better technique. Many shooters enjoy the challenge and lower recoil that the 28 provides on the course.
