The Athlon Optics Neos 4-12X40 rifle scope brings serious optic capability to hunters and shooters who refuse to compromise on quality just to save money. This 4-12x magnification scope with a 40mm objective lens delivers versatile light-gathering and magnification range for mid-range hunting, target work, and field shooting without breaking the bank. Built on a one-piece aluminum tube, the Neos is engineered to handle recoil and weather while staying lightweight enough for all-day hunting.

What sets the Neos apart is its IR BDC reticle—a ballistic drop compensator specifically calibrated for infrared sight use—paired with a first focal plane (SFP) design and 500-yard BDC correction capability. The optic's fully multi-coated lens system maximizes light transmission for clear, bright images in varying light conditions. Whether you're glassing at dawn, making precision shots in midday sun, or hunting near last light, the coatings help cut glare and deliver the edge you need.

The 1-inch tube diameter means compatibility with standard scope rings and mounts found on most hunting rifles and platforms. It's the kind of no-fuss, no-frills scope design that appeals to hunters who've learned to value dependable glass over flashy marketing. The Neos proves you don't have to choose between affordability and features that actually matter in the field.

Frequently Asked Questions

What rifles and mounts will the Athlon Neos 4-12X40 fit?

The 1-inch tube diameter is the industry standard, so it works with any scope rings and mounts designed for 1-inch tubes. That includes the vast majority of hunting rifles, AR platforms, and precision rifles in use today.

Is this scope good for hunting, or is it better suited for the range?

The 4-12X magnification range and 40mm objective make the Neos equally at home hunting in the field or ringing steel at the range. The IR BDC reticle is designed with hunting ballistics in mind, making it a natural choice for field hunters working at mid-range distances.

What does the IR BDC reticle do?

IR BDC stands for Infrared Ballistic Drop Compensator. The reticle is engineered with drop compensation marks calibrated out to 500 yards, allowing you to make holdover adjustments for elevation without turning the turret—fast and intuitive in the field.

What does SFP mean, and does it matter?

SFP means Second Focal Plane. In an SFP design, the reticle stays the same size relative to your eye regardless of magnification, which most hunters find simpler and more intuitive to use than FFP (first focal plane) scopes.
