The Athlon Optics Helos BTR G2 4–20×50 first focal plane scope brings proven long-range capability to hunters and precision shooters who refuse to compromise on optical quality without breaking the bank. Built around a 30mm tube with fully multi-coated lenses and XPL coatings, this scope handles variable lighting and tough field conditions with confidence. Whether you're dialing steel at distance or hunting in changing light, the Helos BTR G2 delivers the clarity and adjustment reliability that dedicated long-range shooters expect.

The first focal plane (FFP) design means your APRS6 mil reticle maintains true subtension across all magnification settings—critical for precision holdovers at any zoom level. The illuminated reticle adds versatility in low-light situations without forcing you to choose between day and dawn/dusk performance. Locking elevation and windage turrets eliminate accidental dial shifts during transport or in the field, while the zero stop feature lets you return to your zero reference instantly if you're adjusting for distance or wind.

Direct dial turrets give you tactile feedback with each click, building confidence whether you're making long-range field adjustments or working through a practiced ballistic sequence. The 4–20× magnification range spans hunting to competitive long-range applications, and the 50mm objective collects light efficiently for the mid-to-high magnification work where precision matters most. This is an optic built for shooters and hunters serious about reaching distance, without the premium price tag of boutique brands.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does first focal plane mean, and is it right for long-range shooting?

In a first focal plane scope, the reticle sits in front of the zoom lens, so it scales with magnification. This means your APRS6 mil reticle holds true subtension at every magnification level—critical for long-range holdovers and precision work. If you're adjusting aim based on mil marks across different zoom settings, FFP is the way to go.

Can I use this scope for hunting and target shooting?

Absolutely. The 4–20× magnification range covers both applications. Hunters use the lower end for field work and closer shots, while the higher magnifications and FFP design support target shooting and long-range precision work. The locking turrets and zero stop give you field reliability in either role.

What's included with this scope?

The scope comes with the optic itself. You will need to acquire mounting rings or an appropriate mount for your firearm's rail system, and you may want to add lens covers or other aftermarket accessories.

Is the reticle illuminated, and does it need batteries?

Yes, the APRS6 reticle is illuminated for low-light conditions. Battery specifications and power requirements are not detailed in the product specs provided—contact Bosque Outdoors for full details on reticle illumination operation.
