Rock Island Armory
The Armscor VRPA40 Rock Island VR mag-fed pump-action 12 gauge shotgun delivers reliable home defense and tactical performance in a platform that won't break the bank. Built around a magazine-fed system rather than a traditional tube magazine, this 20-inch pump gun brings modern ergonomics and real versatility to a time-tested action type. The aluminum construction keeps weight manageable—just under 7 pounds empty—while the marine black anodized finish stands up to the wear and tear of duty use or serious sport shooting.
What sets the VRPA40 apart in the crowded pump-action market is its magazine compatibility with other Rock Island VR Series shotguns, giving you flexibility in how you configure and feed your gun. The 5+1 capacity accommodates both 2¾-inch and 3-inch shells, so you're not locked into one load type. A contoured barrel and integral heat shield keep your hands comfortable during extended shooting, and the mobile choke system lets you dial in the right pattern for your mission. At 55 inches overall and just 1.57 inches wide, this shotgun handles well in tight spaces—a real asset for home defense scenarios.
Rock Island Armory earned its reputation by delivering mil-spec features and honest reliability at street prices. The VRPA40 continues that tradition: you get serious materials (7075 T6 aluminum), proven pump reliability, and modern magazine logistics without paying three times as much as you would for a household name. Whether you're setting up a home defense gun, running drills at the range, or testing a new action type, the VRPA40 offers no-nonsense performance and real value.
