Rock Island Armory
The Rock Island Armory GI Standard 1911A1 in 45 ACP is a no-frills, purpose-built carry 1911 that hews closely to the original US military spec. If you want a classic .45 with authentic GI bones—fixed sights, traditional ergonomics, and proven reliability—this is the real deal. The 4.25" barrel keeps it compact enough for holster carry without sacrificing the accuracy you need at defensive distances.
Rock Island has built their reputation on delivering solid 1911s at fair prices, and the GI Standard doesn't cut corners on the essentials. The parkerized finish is a tough, matte coating that won't catch light and won't demand constant babying. Smooth wood grips give you something substantial to hold—no aggressive texturing, just comfort and control. The factory trigger breaks at 4 to 6 pounds, which means you get a crisp, predictable break straight out of the box, no gunsmithing required.
This is a 1911 for shooters who appreciate function over features: fixed low-profile sights, a slim profile that suits quick-draw training and carry, and the proven geometry of the platform. Whether you're building a collection, adding a reliable .45 to the safe, or want a traditional carry pistol that won't break the bank, the GI Standard delivers the fundamentals.

Yes. The GI Standard follows traditional 1911 geometry and accepts standard .45 ACP magazines. Many aftermarket 1911 parts are compatible, though we recommend verifying fitment with your gunsmith or the manufacturer for custom upgrades.
The 4.25" barrel gives you a more compact profile for carry and concealment while retaining the accuracy and reliability of a full 1911 platform. The shorter barrel also reduces overall weight, making it easier to carry for extended periods.
Parkerized is a military-grade finish known for durability and corrosion resistance. It's matte and non-reflective, which makes it practical for tactical and carry use. Like any finish, it benefits from occasional cleaning and light lubrication to maintain protection.
The GI Standard ships with one 8-round magazine. Sights, grips, and other hardware are installed and ready to shoot.
