Area 419
The Area 419 Hunt 1" diameter extra low (20mm) scope rings are purpose-built for hunters who demand lightweight, rigid optics mounts that stay rock-solid through hard recoil. These rings strip away unnecessary weight and bulk while keeping the uncompromising manufacturing standards that Area 419 is known for—final-bore matched sets that arrive ready to install and trusted to perform for decades.
What sets the Hunt rings apart is the process. Area 419 doesn't simply machine parts, anodize them, and assemble. Instead, they machine the bases and caps, anodize them completely, then reassemble the full rings in specially produced rail fixtures. The caps are torqued to spec over custom spacers that ensure even pressure on your optic, then the entire set is final-bored together in their machining centers. Every pair ships as a matched set—rings made for one another, not random parts that happen to be the same model. That attention adds weight nowhere; it only adds reliability everywhere.
Built from 7075 aerospace-grade billet aluminum with stainless steel hardware, the Hunt rings weigh just 4 ounces per set while the internal bore remains raw aluminum for maximum grip on your scope. Type 3 hardcoat anodize protects the exterior. The 20mm height (extra low) keeps your sight line close to the bore for natural cheek weld and minimal height over bore—ideal for hunters running modern hunting rifles with modern scopes. Keep in mind: these rings have no accessory attachment points, so they're optimized purely for holding glass. If you need to mount additional gear to your rings, Area 419's Match or Tactical lines offer that flexibility.
These are the rings you grab when ounces matter, when recoil is real, and when you want to trust your optic mount completely.
| Ring Diameter | 1 inch |
| Ring Height | Extra Low (20mm) |
| Weight | 4 oz per set |
| Material | 7075 aerospace-grade billet aluminum with stainless steel hardware |
| Finish | Type 3 hardcoat anodize (raw aluminum bore) |
| Accessory Attachment Points | None |
The Hunt rings are 1 inch diameter, designed to fit standard 1-inch scope tubes. Verify your scope tube diameter before purchase. The extra low (20mm) height suits most modern rifle setups, but ensure adequate clearance between your barrel and objective bell. If you need different ring heights or diameters, verify the exact specs of your scope and rifle rail.
No. The Hunt rings have no accessory attachment points—they're optimized for holding glass only. This keeps weight and footprint minimal, ideal for hunters. If you need the ability to mount accessories, Area 419 offers their Match or Tactical scope ring lines instead.
Boring the rings as a matched pair after full assembly and torquing ensures the two rings align perfectly with each other and create a consistent, repeatable bore for your scope tube. This eliminates tolerance stack-up and delivers a rock-solid, vibration-free hold that won't shift under recoil.
The raw aluminum bore provides maximum friction and grip on your scope tube for reliable indexing and zero retention. The hardcoat anodize on the exterior protects the rings from weather and corrosion. This combination gives you both durability and function.
