APEX TACTICAL SPECIALTIES
The Apex Tactical Polymer Action Enhancement Drop-in Trigger for S&W M&P is a straightforward upgrade for shooters who want a lighter, cleaner trigger pull without a trip to the gunsmith. This kit transforms the M&P 9mm and .40 S&W's stock trigger from heavy and gritty into something that breaks at 5 to 5.5 pounds with noticeably shorter reset and reduced pre-travel. If you carry or compete with an M&P and find yourself working the trigger harder than you'd like, this is the kind of practical improvement that makes shooting more enjoyable and more precise.
What makes the Apex approach work is attention to the small details that compound into better trigger performance. The polymer construction keeps weight down, the rounded trigger face gives your finger a natural contact point, and the fully machined sear paired with a heavy-duty spring set delivers the consistency you're looking for in a defensive or range gun. The kit cuts pre-travel and over-travel by roughly 20 percent compared to factory, so there's less dead space before the gun fires and less slack after reset.
Installation is designed to be drop-in for most builds, though Apex recommends having an armorer or gunsmith handle it to ensure everything sits right. The center-mounted pivoting safety mechanism keeps the gun's original safety function intact—a non-negotiable for carry use. Just be aware: this kit is engineered for the classic M&P 9mm and .40 S&W only. It won't fit the M&P45, M2.0, Shield, or .22 LR variants.
