The American Defense AD-RECON 30mm scope mount is purpose-built for AR-15 flattop receivers and delivers the kind of rock-solid performance you need when mounting serious optics on a tactical or hunting rifle. This cantilever mount positions your scope 2 inches forward on the rail, giving you the breathing room to dial in proper eye relief and maximize your sight picture—especially useful if you're running a large-objective scope or need extra clearance over your charging handle. American Defense engineered this mount to handle objective housings up to 56mm, so whether you're pairing it with a compact prism sight or a premium hunting scope, you've got the flexibility to run the glass you want.

Built from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in Mil-Spec hard-coat anodize, the AD-RECON is machined for durability and designed to stay put through recoil and hard use. The standout feature is American Defense's patented QD Auto Lock Lever system, which clamps down tight on both in-spec and out-of-spec Picatinny rails—no guesswork, no wobble. Setup and adjustment require nothing more than your finger or a flat-blade screwdriver; no proprietary tools, no unnecessary complexity. That means you can make field adjustments when you need them, and you're never locked out by missing a branded wrench.

If you're building or upgrading an AR for hunting, competition, or precision shooting, the AD-RECON delivers the kind of no-nonsense engineering that keeps your optics steady and your shots true. It's the kind of mount that works hard and doesn't ask for attention—exactly what belongs on a serious rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the AD-RECON fit my AR-15 flat-top receiver?

Yes. The mount is designed for flat-top AR-15 receivers with standard Picatinny MIL-STD-1913 rails. The QD Auto Lock Lever system works on both in-spec and out-of-spec rail systems.

What scope objective sizes does this mount support?

The AD-RECON accepts 30mm scope bodies and supports objective housings up to 56mm in diameter. This gives you compatibility with most hunting and tactical scopes in that size range.

Why is the 2-inch cantilever useful?

The 2-inch forward offset moves your scope away from the charging handle and receiver, giving you more room to find and maintain proper eye relief—critical for comfort and safety, especially with high-power magnification or longer-range optics.

Do I need any special tools to adjust or mount this?

No. The mount can be adjusted with your finger or a flat-blade screwdriver. No proprietary tools are required for setup or field adjustment.
