Building an AR15 from the ground up starts with a quality lower receiver, and the Aero Precision Gen 2 AR15 lower receiver in FDE is engineered to be the solid foundation your custom build deserves. Machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum and finished in durable Cerakote FDE, this stripped lower receiver meets mil-spec dimensions and works seamlessly with standard AR15 upper receivers and components. Whether you're assembling a precision rifle, a lightweight hunting setup, or a range gun, this lower gives you the platform to do it right.

Aero Precision's Gen 2 design brings thoughtful refinements that make the build experience and the finished rifle better. The upper tensioning screw with nylon tip lets you dial in the fit between upper and lower receiver for a tight, rattle-free connection without marring components. The flared magwell makes magazine insertion smoother and gives the lower a cleaner, more integrated look. The rear takedown pin detent hole is threaded to accept a 4-40 set screw, eliminating the need to improvise retention. You get the stripped lower receiver and the tensioning set screw in the box—everything you need to begin assembly.

At 8.35 ounces, this aluminum lower is light without sacrificing rigidity. The "Cal Multi" marking reflects its compatibility across standard AR15 calibers, and the FDE Cerakote finish resists wear and corrosion through hard use in the field or at the range. If you're a serious builder or a seasoned shooter who knows exactly what upper, trigger group, and fire control components you want, this lower receiver removes the guesswork and gives you the quality base you expect from Aero Precision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included with this stripped lower receiver?

You receive the stripped lower receiver itself and the Gen 2 nylon-tipped upper tensioning set screw. A stripped lower contains no fire control group, hammer, trigger, or stock—you'll need to source those components separately for your build.

Will this lower work with my AR15 upper receiver?

Yes. This lower is machined to mil-spec dimensions and works with any standard AR15 upper receiver. The Gen 2 tensioning screw lets you fine-tune the fit for a tight connection.

What calibers can I build with this lower?

The "Cal Multi" marking indicates this lower is compatible with standard AR15 calibers. The lower receiver itself is caliber-agnostic; your caliber choice depends on the upper receiver and barrel you select.

How does the upper tensioning screw work?

The Gen 2 nylon-tipped tensioning set screw threads into the grip tang area of the lower and allows you to adjust the fit between upper and lower receiver, eliminating play and rattling without damaging components.
