The Aero Precision AR15 12" Enhanced M-LOK Handguard Gen 2 is a lightweight free-float rail system built for shooters who want modularity without the weight penalty. Whether you're running a precision build, a tactical rifle, or a competition gun, this handguard replaces bulky Picatinny systems with the more versatile M-LOK mounting standard—giving you cleaner attachment points and genuine accessory flexibility. The Gen 2 iteration refines the original with grip-focused milling on the flats, a redesigned continuous top rail profile, and quick-disconnect sling sockets positioned at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock.
Built to mil-spec tolerances with a one-piece design, this handguard integrates anti-rotation tabs and maintains an inner diameter of 1.72" from the barrel nut cut forward—wide enough to clear most muzzle devices and compact suppressors up to 1.5" diameter. The scalloped rails keep weight down without sacrificing rigidity, and compatible low-profile gas blocks fit without interference. Aero Precision engineered this to work seamlessly with their M4E1 Enhanced Upper Receiver without additional parts, though standard threaded uppers will require their BAR Barrel Nut (sold separately) for proper installation—no exceptions.
This is an AR15-platform handguard only; it does not fit M5 or M5E1 uppers chambered in .308 Winchester. The continuous top rail gives you consistent Picatinny real estate for optics or accessories, while the M-LOK slots across the sides and underside provide infinite positioning for grips, lights, and gear. If you're tired of rail clutter and want true modularity on a proven platform, this handguard delivers the clean lines and functional design Aero Precision is known for.

Yes, but with a requirement: standard threaded uppers need Aero Precision's BAR Barrel Nut (sold separately) to install this handguard properly. If you already own an Aero M4E1 Enhanced Upper Receiver, no additional parts are needed—it attaches directly. This handguard does not work with standard barrel nuts.
Most suppressors and muzzle devices up to 1.5" in diameter fit inside the handguard's 1.72" inner diameter. Low-profile gas blocks are also compatible without interference. If your setup is larger than those specs, clearance may be an issue.
No. This handguard is designed exclusively for the AR15 platform and M4E1 upper receivers. It is not compatible with M5 or M5E1 uppers chambered in .308 Winchester.
This handguard features M-LOK slots across the sides and bottom for accessory attachment, paired with a continuous Picatinny rail on top. M-LOK offers more flexible positioning and a cleaner profile than full-length rail systems, while the top rail ensures compatibility with standard optics and traditional accessories.
