The Aero M5 308 Lower Parts Kit Minus FCG/PG gives you all the small components you need to complete an Aero Precision M5 .308 AR lower receiver—without paying for parts you'll replace anyway. If you're building a modern .308 AR platform rifle, you already know you'll be dropping in an aftermarket trigger and pistol grip that suit your shooting style. This kit strips away the fire-control group and grip to let you source those pieces separately, keeping costs down and giving you full control over your build's final configuration.
The kit includes everything else: takedown and pivot pins, springs, and detents sized specifically for the M5 platform; bolt catch assembly with spring and roll pin; safety selector with spring and detent; buffer retainer and spring; and magazine catch components with extended button. All the hardware is spec'd for .308-pattern lowers and engineered to Aero's exacting standards. Worth noting: this kit will also function on DPMS-pattern lowers, though the takedown and pivot pins will protrude slightly further than designed.
Whether you're a seasoned AR builder customizing your next long-range rig or a first-timer assembling a dedicated .308 hunting rifle, this parts kit streamlines the build process and lets your trigger and grip choices take center stage. It's the smart move for builders who know exactly what they want in their trigger assembly.
| Platform | Aero Precision M5 .308 AR |
| Caliber | .308 Winchester / 7.62×51 NATO |
| Includes | Takedown/pivot pins, springs, and detents; bolt catch assembly; safety selector; buffer retainer; magazine catch body, spring, and extended button |
| Does Not Include | Fire-control group; pistol grip; lower receiver |
| Also Fits | DPMS-pattern .308 lowers (with slight pin protrusion) |
Yes, this M5 kit is compatible with DPMS-pattern lowers. However, the takedown and pivot pins will stick out further than they would on an M5 receiver, so keep that in mind if aesthetics matter to you.
You'll need a fire-control group (trigger, hammer, and disconnector) and a pistol grip. Many AR-15 triggers are drop-in compatible with .308 lowers, giving you lots of options.
No, the lower receiver is sold separately. This kit contains only the small parts and springs needed to complete an already-acquired M5 .308 lower.
If you're comfortable assembling a .308 AR lower and selecting your own trigger and grip, absolutely. The parts are straightforward and Aero's instructions are solid. If you prefer an all-in-one kit, look for a complete lower parts kit that includes the fire-control group and grip.
