Athlon Optics
The Athlon Ares ETR GEN2 1-10x24 34mm rifle scope is a first focal plane optic built for shooters who demand versatility—whether you're engaging targets at arm's length or dialing in shots beyond 700 yards. The illuminated ATMR2 reticle is optimized for 223 Rem/5.56 NATO ammunition (68 and 69-grain BTHP), but its design translates well to other calibers and bullet weights, making it a practical choice for AR shooters, varmint hunters, and precision marksmen working across multiple platforms.
At 1x magnification, the scope functions like an illuminated red dot—the centered horseshoe provides a fast, daylight-bright aiming point for close work. As you increase magnification, a BDC hash system emerges, marking bullet-drop holds at 100-yard intervals from 300 to 700 yards. Wind holdovers for 5 and 10 mph conditions are also incorporated into the reticle design, so you can make quick corrections without adjusting turrets. The ranging tree etched on the lower vertical post lets you estimate distance quickly on standard 36-inch silhouette targets, turning your scope into a complete ballistic calculator.
The 34mm tube and 1-10x magnification range position this scope as a true do-it-all option. Stay on target at close range, scale up to mid-distance precision, or push out to extended ranges—the Ares ETR GEN2 handles all three without compromise. The first focal plane design ensures the reticle scales with magnification, so your holds remain true at any power setting.
| Magnification | 1-10x |
| Objective Diameter | 24mm |
| Tube Diameter | 34mm |
| Reticle Type | ATMR2 illuminated FFP BDC |
| Focal Plane | First Focal Plane (FFP) |
| Primary Use | 223 Rem/5.56 NATO (68–69 grain BTHP); compatible with other calibers and weights |
The scope is equipped with the illuminated ATMR2 reticle, a first focal plane design that works like a red dot at 1x magnification. As you increase power, BDC hash marks appear, showing bullet-drop compensation at 100-yard intervals from 300 to 700 yards. Wind holds for 5 and 10 mph are also built in, plus a ranging tree for distance estimation on standard silhouettes.
Yes. The ATMR2 reticle is optimized for 223 Rem/5.56 NATO ammunition in the 68 and 69-grain BTHP range, and it's also compatible with other bullet weights and calibers. The 1-10x magnification and first focal plane design make it versatile for close-range engagements and mid-range target work, suiting both AR hunters and precision shooters.
First focal plane (FFP) means the reticle scales with magnification. Your BDC holdovers and all reticle measurements remain accurate and proportional whether you're at 1x or 10x power—you don't have to dial back to a specific magnification for your ballistic marks to be true.
The scope is designed to support shooting out to 700 yards, with BDC marks and a ranging tree built into the reticle to help you estimate distance and compensate for bullet drop and wind at extended distances. The 1-10x magnification provides enough power for precision work at that range.
